And than it was time to go into my last week in Africa. It was a very special feeling, to know to go home in a few days. It makes me feel sad. But as we know: every end is also a beginning. Our last week was also a great thing. We left the etosha national parc and were heding towards the waterbeg plateau. The spot was amazing. A big mountain and a huge plateau. We booked a game drive and made also a nice (and even long) bushwalk,There were a lot of animals. We were able to go close - very close, it was amazing. The next stop - and unfortunatly the last one - was Okonjima nature reserve. A nice private reserve. We made a nice game drive in the morning to see the cheetahs and in the afternoon a leopard tracking. And at the end we made it: we saw two leopards!! After 11 weeks in Namibia I finally got to see the, for me, most amazing predator, the leopard. To our surprise, the second one we saw was absolutly not shay and followed our car. He even wants to jump on the car .... not the thing you wanna have ... but absolutly exciting and amazing.
At the last day I surprised my wife with a visite in TimBila. I showed her where I was and introduced her to my very good friends: Theo, Maryna, Mila and of course my best friend Hanlo. We had a nice lunch together. After that we startet the last few km's back to Windhoek. I was sad to know all is over. We spend one more night in Windhoek. At the 8th of June, my very special trip, my time off, my sabbatical, my time of my life, was definitly over. A bus took us to the airport and at 7 pm, we had take off, back home. I'm honest, I really was crying and sad. I promise you, I had such an amazing time, I saw so much things, could do excinting stuff and learned all about the wilderness and the wonderful Africa.
I met a lot of nice persons, all over the world, had nice conversations and recognized, there are other things in our life, they are more important things than be succsesful and busy all the time. I learned: Life in the moment and don't care about tomorrow ... there will always be a wonderful moment!
And here we are again - at home. My heart still stays in Africa - and a part of it will ever be there! It's hard to find the way back. I still feel a bit "wrong" here. It needs time .... One is for sure: I will return! Thanks to all they supported me, gave me the space I needed, espacially my wonderful wife, she was waiting a long time for me, but now, we are together again - that's wonderful! I'm still sad and wished I could stay longer. Thanks to read my webpage and for all the feedback I got during my travel. I feel so grateful, so blessed for all I could do and see. It's in no way not a matter of course. I met a lot of poor people during my journey through Africa. I tried to help where ever I could ... but it's not possible to save all of them ..... unfortunatly.
Now I start a very important project: A rhino fund. The money goes directly to the project in Namibia. Rhinos are wonderful creatures but very very threatend. We have to protect them! Please, if you ever are in Africa, never post a picture of a rhino. Keep them for you and in your heart!
Thank you guys! .... Time goes bye but memories last for ever ..... ! I never will forget this time, it's deep in my heart.
