Here I am. My last week as a volunteer in Africa is over. Time flies, literally. I had a amazing last week in Timbila, a week I never will forget. I could do and see so many things, it was just overwhelming. Hanlo, the chief apu took me to so many activities, I never expected. He became a real and great friend of me. I even joined him for a few night patrols and we had such nice conversations about life, about us, about everything. We even had some nice jokes to tell :). We also did a lot of other work, as installing a new antenna for the radio communications (unfortunatly, we got no signal :)) - and you may be sure, we had also a little part of gymanstics in, to get the installation done :). Hanlo, a "thank you" is not enough, I'm really so grateful for everything I've seen, for everything I was allowed to experience - it is in no way not a matter of course. I'm really a lucky guy. I also thank Theo, our coordinator for her lovely being, for her humor, just for all. Also Maryna - a great person. She did all for me, she organized all my mixed up and still had a smile for me, and Mila, the little one from Hanlo and Maryna. At the end, I got her, but it took me a lot of work :))) And there were a lot of other persons in Timbila I never will forget. Timbila stole my heart, I left a part of it there and one thing is for sure: I will return to see this lovely persons, "my" animals, the enviroment, just all of it Timbila stands for, again.
If you ever plan to have a journey through Namibia, go to Timbila. The lodge is amazing, the reserve is just great, the animals unique. I really recommend it.
Now my time, just as a volunteer, is over. I start the third part of my amazing sabbatical. I'm so happy to have my wife back. Soon she will be in my arms again. The adventure through Namibia starts at Monday. Our first stop will be the Kalahari Namibia. I'm excited, and don't worry, there will be some more reports and pictures ... stay with me.
